Junior Athletics Open Day

At the beginning of a new season, we offer 2 x Open Day sessions for our juniors to come and try it out to see if they like it. Over 2 consecutive Tuesdays we will run all the athletic disciplines and encourage the kids to give it a go. Parent Helpers are integral to making this happen.

About the event
We invite all interested juniors, school year levels 3 - 8, to join us at the Event Centre to give it a go and see if they like it. Thereafter if your child is interested in joining the club, they will need to be signed up to the club which shares an affiliation with Athletics NZ and Southland Athletics to continue taking part. All information about signing up to the club is on "join the club" page of this website.
NB: Parents should be aware that our club is run entirely by volunteers (normally parents of kids who participate) who give up their busy schedules to run these sessions. They require lots of parent help and this year a roster will be set up for helpers. You do not need to be an athlete, they will provide clear instructions.
